茶筌MOJIについて
心のこもった一服のお抹茶で客人におもてなしをすることが日本の伝統文化、茶道であり、
「茶筌」とはその茶道で使用する抹茶を撹拌する道具です。
The traditional Japanese culture of tea ceremony is to welcome guests with a thoughtful cup of Matcha, and "Chasen (bamboo tea whisk)" is the tool used in the ceremony to whip and stir Matcha.
高山茶筌（たかやまちゃせん）は、奈良県生駒市高山町で国が認めた伝統工芸士によって作られており、全て手作業で丁寧に製作されています。
室町時代後期から500年以上の歴史があり、職人たちの洗練された技術で作られた茶筌は、おもてなしの気持ちが込められた、きめの細かい泡を作り、美味しいお抹茶となります。
Takayama Chasen is made in Takayama-cho, Ikoma City, Nara Prefecture, traditional artisans are certified by the government and carefully handcrafts all of the products. With a history of more than 500 years since the late Muromachi period, the Chasen are made with the refined skills of artisans, and produce a fine foam when stirred creating delicious matcha with a touch of Japanese hospitality.
茶筌MOJIとは、茶筌を作る工程で竹の品質が悪かったり、作業ミスで商品としてクリアできなかった物を筆として使用し、アート作品にしたものです。
"Chasen MOJI" is an artwork created by using a Chasen as a writing brush that was not passed as a product due to poor quality bamboo or work errors in the process of making Chasen.
Shiho Imagara, the artist who invented this "Chasen MOJI", is a calligrapher who started learning calligraphy at 4 years old and continues to perform both in Japan and abroad.
She grew up in Ikoma City, Nara Prefecture, the traditional home of Chasen, and honed her calligraphy skills in this area from an early age.
この茶筌MOJIを生み出したアーティスト今柄紫峯（Shiho Imagara）は、4歳から書道を習い始め、現在も国内外で活躍する書道家です。
彼女は、この茶筌の町奈良県生駒市で幼い頃から育ち、書道の技を磨いてきました。

そんな彼女が数年前、高山茶筌「翠華園」代表 谷村彌三郎氏と出会い、廃棄となる多くの茶筌の存在を知り、その廃材を使って書道とアートをコラボさせた作品を作るアイデアを生み出しました。
茶筌MOJIは2023年6月に誕生したばかりですが、アートとしての美しい要素だけでなく、地球環境にも優しい持続可能なアート(sustainable art)としても注目されています。
Several years ago, she met Mr. Yasaburo Tanimura who is an artisan of Chasen and head of Suikaen, and upon learning of the many discarded Chasens, she came up with the idea of using the waste material to create a collaborative work of calligraphy and art.
Chasen MOJI was just born in June 2023, and it is not only a beautiful work of art, but also a sustainable art that is friendly to the global environment.
